Data Deletion Request

How to request the removal of your personal data from our systems. We respond within 21 days.

Your right to erasure is protected under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (NDPR).

This covers data collected through this website. If you're a JOT or KBLIX School user, please make your request within that product directly, since the data involved (business records, student records) is held separately.

01 How to Submit a Request

The most reliable way to make a formal request is through our contact form. Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include:

Your full name.
The email address or phone number you used when contacting us.
A brief description of the data you want deleted.

02 Identity Verification

To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorised deletions, we may ask you to confirm details only you would know (e.g. the exact email address or project name associated with your inquiry), or provide a copy of a valid government-issued ID. Any ID shared for verification is securely deleted once verification is complete.

03 What Can Be Deleted

We will delete personal data we hold about you on request, except where we are legally required to retain it.

What Must Be Retained

Some data must be retained by law regardless of your request — for example, financial and billing records required by Nigerian tax law (7 years). Where this applies, we restrict its use strictly to that legal purpose and confirm this to you in writing.

04 Confirmation

You will receive written confirmation once deletion is complete, specifying what was deleted and noting any data retained with the legal reason for retention.

05 Just Want to Stop Receiving Emails?

Unsubscribing from marketing emails is different from a full data deletion request — it's instant, and available via the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any KBLIX email. If you want all of your data removed, follow the full process above instead.

06 Complaints & Escalation

Step 1 — Contact us directly. Raise the concern through our contact form and we will work to resolve it promptly. Most issues are resolved at this stage.

Step 2 — NDPC complaint. If we fail to resolve your concern, you may lodge a formal complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), the regulatory body for data protection in Nigeria.
